It is just exciting to spend hours to explore and fighting in the continent of Northrend is definitely something to look forward to. However, it is also best to know about the game in advance and learn about the backgrounds of the players and groups you might encounter in the game. One of the most interesting and powerful groups that you might meet is the faction known as The Hand of Vengeance. This faction is an army of Forsaken forces that were commanded by their queen, Sylvanas Windrunner, to fight the Scourge and the Lich King himself in Northrend. To find this faction, all you need to do is head to the Howling Fjord where their main outpost or headquarters is located, known as the Vengeance Landing.

What makes this faction interesting is the race that it allows into its folds, the Forsaken. Although the Forsaken is fighting against the Scourge, it is only because it is convenient for them. They consider the Scourge and the Lich King their ultimate enemies because they are responsible for their state. However, they also have hate for the Human race and most of the other races because they are shunned for being once in the thrall of the evil Scourge. Their ultimate goal is rid Azeroth of all humanity, of all living things, until the planet becomes a land populated and led by the Forsaken. The Hand of Vengeance joins the Warsong Offensive, the Taunka, and the Sunreavers to form the Horde Expedition against the Lich King.

One can say that the faction is maddened by the need to avenge themselves, as the name suggests. Because of their need to do this, they end up fighting against the Alliance. It is because of the actions of this group that causes the battle in Undercity between the Alliance and the Horde factions. The Hand of Vengeance, under the lead of Putress and Varimathras, kill some members of the Alliance and the Horde using their new plague. This attack by the Forsaken members of the faction was enough to incite rage in the Alliance forces, especially with King Varian who was close to those who died. In the game, King Varian brings the forces of the Alliance to Undercity to annihilate Putress, while the Horde supports The Hand of Vengeance faction and also fights them there.
