Jewel-crafting Guide

Author:admin Date:7/28/2009 Source:http://www.igcome.com
In the first expansion in World of Warcraft: the Burning Crusade, Jewel-crafting came and it allows a person to create various gems of different colors and rarities out of raw materials. These gems are used in armor pieces and weapons that have jewel slots already in them and offer a lot of benefits to the items they are put in. Each slot has a color associated to it, and if you use the right colors, you can unlock a bonus benefit that may or may not be helpful to your class. Either way, you do not have to use the color associated with the slot if you do not want to.
Also, there are jewels called Meta jewels, with the exception of the normal colored jewels. These jewels of course have certain prerequisites for their benefits to be activated but they provide very substantial buffs to your character that other jewels can't. For example, in order for a Mata to be activated, it may be require that your character have two red jewels present on any pieces of their armor. The requirements vary between Meta jewels but it would be wise to consider adhering to them.
Jewels consist of four different rarities. The common jewels are the one that is pretty easily acquired, also known as greens. They have less to offer than the other three but they are easier to acquire. Many newer characters will use more common jewels as a means to quickly upgrade any items they've - often the items are made obsolete by gear they acquire later on down the road.
There are blue quality jewels. These jewels are rarer than the green quality and are typically what are used for most items. They are much more accessible than epic quality gems and provide some very significant boosts.
The epic jewels are the rarest on the list, also known as purples. These gems offer the best bonuses that jewels have to offer, but with their rarity, they are considerably more expensive than the others. This cost can be offset a bit by acquiring the raw gems required to make them. But to do so, it will require badges of justice that are acquired in heroics.
These gems are acquired by utilizing stacks of ore in increments of five. By using these stacks, you're able to acquire random results. Most of the time, you will acquire common quests or greens and sometimes you will acquire blue quality gems. In some rare cases, you will acquire a rare epic gem. It is best to acquire large amounts of ore and use the stacks all in one setting. In addition to be able to supply your own jewel-crafting, you've the ability to sell these gems for large amounts of gold.
When following this guide closely, you have no difficulty in becoming a master jewel-crafter. This type of leveling has been heavily researched and has proven more effective than other ways found elsewhere. Hopefully this Jewel-crafting guide has given you some useful things you were looking for.
